Round 2! of 3$F Tournament by
Vector by me
vs.
Mikey by
After the fun of the luxury cruise, Vector and company were swallowed by a giant whale (whales are already giantic, so this one was HUGE!) and not before Vector swallowed his champagne!.
Right after landing at the whale's mouth, and using his powers to keep himself at the tongue of the behemoth to see what was happening, Vector found himself sharing the space with another member of the tournament. And what is more important, with his CASH!
Knowing that Mikey had some impressive powers, Vector decided to not let him use them and just accelerate a bullet to the speed and energy of a small meteorite. Mikey was unable to grasp his weapons properly after the impact, letting his magical weapons lose it's grasp, and losing all magical protection. Now it's time for ol' Vector to swim down the whale's throat, and reach the sweet sweet oxigen of it's lungs.
Pencil and digital ink with digital color.
This is the fight for the first round of the 3rd edition of the 1$ Fight Tournament.
Dollar Fighter 3: Round One! *Fights Update*Edit - Briefcase section updated.
They are NO LONGER CUFFED to the fighters!
You can still draw your characters cuffed if that is how they want to protect their cases. So its now optional.
You DONT need to draw characters opening it.
Its that time again folks to put your money where your mouth is, and not only competing for the pride and honour of being the best fighter around, but to also get a nice big briefcase of cash! Before I announce the brackets and the arena, let me just explain the rules...
Entry Picture
Only a single image depicting the fight only. No comic pages, no animations, no comic panels. Just one image. The content
Vector:
vs
Marcella:
1st Round starts in the hall of the big ship cruise SMS Dollar but "Explosions can be heard, deafening the contestants. Not only are they fighting now, in this beautiful ship, but its sinking! Is it really sinking!?"
As soon as the first explosions begin to roar, Vector knows that this is his perfect battleground. Sorrounded by hundreds of debris and chunks of the ship flying around, he can take some minutes to do what he always wanted to do in the sea: To surf! with a girl! ON a girl! Marcella fells unconscious as soon as the first explosions hit her, and Vector uses her energy to surf across the hall and the explosions over the big hard green ass of his new friend.
Vector is a young but daring hero with the power of control high amounts of kinetic energy at will. This means he can slow a bullet or add enough energy and speed to it as to destroy a building. His skills can modify the direction of the item he controls, giving him full control of it's momentum. Still as hero, Vector is not too friendly with other of his kind, and prefer to work alone. Now the 3rd 1$ Fight Tournament can be the perfect test field for his skills.
His kinetic power grants him superior speed senses and awarenes of any high kinetic energy being or object around him, so he uses a gun to have easy access to high speed elements to work with. The faster the object moves, the easier for Vector to control it.
This is my character for the 3rd edition of the 1$ Fight tournament, which will be awesome!
And third page, this one from a different sequence of the story. More material soon!
Second page (well, 2nd and 3rd, it's a splash page), and big creature! (Hopefully I will be drawing all kind of giantish bugs and creatures like this, yippi-ka-ye!)
Kind of surprise here. Soon ill start moving a project of my own, and Ill use Deviantart to test what do you think, and also to show it a bit until my web is back online, (it got some tech trouble that I have to solve...uh...somehow...).
This is one of the three pages i'm showing, linked to #2, but not to third, which is from another sequence.
In a public building, volunteers perform sessions of live drawing for free, each week haves a different theme. This one was H.P. Lovecraft
En la Tabacalera de Embajadores, en Madrid, se organiza cada semana una sesión de posado gratis para dibujantes. La sesión es temática y la de ésta semana era sobre H.P. Lovecraft.
Pd. Tomorrow I upload a bigger version, it's on another comp...
One of the drawings I made for the IDW book "Book of Extreme Facts". You can see some of it here:
[link]
I was just one of many artists working on it, and some drawings could be better, well, all of them SHOULD be, but I like some details...hum...some minor details...
All rights reserved by IDW and its respective Licensors, etc etc.
A sketch from the statue of Diego Lopez de Haro, governor of Vizcaya town 1000 years ago, and member of the first De Haro family. Legend says that he got married with a half demon woman. I got that surname at 5th place after my name, so that explains things!
The new logo at my invoice bills (is that a right term?), and maybe at my proffesional cards. Good taste can be mixed with menace. My clients will love it, or something...
And as I use to do, this is the sketch for the logo, all done in one pencil layer, as the champions.
This is the logo of my misterious next project, stay tunned to your mogo-signal if you like it, I will show more.
And the sketched version. I'm sure it does weird clakety-cric sounds while it hunts you.
This is the Yuyu tale illustration of the week. It's written by John Tones, as usual, and it talks about something I like to draw, bugs! Specially fantasy, giant, weird and alien bugs as this one.
Uh...I like it at pencil, but I failed miserably at the inks here, so this is all you will get from this page.
This test is not from now, if I post it here is because I made it months ago, got no answer, and I am already doing other works. The page haves some good and bad parts, but you are asked to deliver them fast, free and yes, this is me giving excuses again.
Pencil for the inked page of this same name. As the editor gave me a page measure and then another one, I had only one choice, make a new panel that wasn't on the script. Right on ink, no pencil, I live on the edge.
This is the first of three pages I made for an editor who wanted to adapt the pulp book of a known sect creator. This could have been the best. Anyway, I should have posted it here before, but I have a nice mess of works done and test pages in my comp. Sorry!
Just a sketch of a girl in a bath full of milk. The best way to start the week on fire.
Pencil sketch for The Hand, more info about it in the ink version, yada yada.
The Yuyu tale of this week had a nice argument about an artist who re-start drawing after an injury, and he is able only to do anger faces. And I made 3 angered faces after this one, ew!
At the last minute I decided to enter into the book project, well, she also asked me in her sweet vocoder tone, and I couldn't say no. And this is what I did.
I decided to explore the way to colour by adding shades of grey with a Copic maker, and then add digital color over it. I re-used some ideas from previous sketches, and here is what I got. I will try this system again, and hopefully, better, since the copic maker I have is too dark. Thanks!
I did this tree for the birthday of my grandma, who will be 100 years old in one month. I will print a genealogic tree, with names and pics of her family with this image as backgrounds, I hope she likes it.
The Yuyu tale of this week shows how vampires can come out of closed coffins too. Eek!
Pencil sketches for the Yuyu tale of the week, as you see, the moon went from dark to light, and the arm of the girl became shorter in the inked version.
Same than the one on inks, with my joy colours to make it look better. Ah, the girl of the tale is 15 years old, so those eyes, out of her cleavage!
This is the christmas i made for this year, based on a idea suggested by Estefanía García, who knows what i enjoy drawing.
Have a happy 2011 all of you.
Pd. Deviantart and blogger must use some colour codecs because i find the tones slightly more vivid here than they should look, but It's late, so I hope you like it.
I had to let the pencils tight for this one, since I almost don't ink it in time. Pant!
Your favourite rock-shaped blue eyed hero. Marvel rights reserved, and all that.
This is the Tale-eater, and he is not friendly, neither he helps children, or lets Guillermo del Toro films him. Posted, as each 15 days, in Pequeño Libro de Notas, wrote (in spanish), by John Tones.
This was done as a test for the brushes done by , at least 3 of them were trully awesome, and I will be using them often, no doubt about it.
It's also a test to find the physic of a girl I have to design. She won't be this strong, (or maybe yesl, yay), but I wanted to go further than required, so I can move her down from that point a bit.
Also finding a way to give colour to the pages of the project is an important target, and this could be the path. Just selections and layers at first. Brushes at the end, so I can keep as much control as I can over the image. Next step should be trying a more complex image, with background, and some depth.
And last page of Spykillers test job. I hope you like it. First panel looks good. To me, hey.
Second page of the Spykillers test pages. It haves at least 2 panels I like. They are squared, it's a clue.
First of 3 test pages done for a mysterious client. It adapts the work of a writter, and with a bit of google you can figure out as much as I did, who would have pay me if the job was accepted. Scary.
Same thing than the pencil version. The classrom panel melted my brain, I am an idiot when it comes to draw perspectives.
For the 1945 project, a second dossier is almost ready, and this is page one. It haves Hitler in it, in a chalkboard.
Comic book test page for Marvel Comics.
It haves Wolverine, robots and monkeys in the same page, can't be better than that.
Latest yuyu tale, which brings on a concept that could be used in a nearby future. Sizes, bugs, humans in danger...hell yes.
Yuyu 17, there is one monster that doesn't belongs too much to the group, but what the hell.
This was a test for a work on a french book. The editor wanted a drawing of MJ, and I knew nothing about what style do they want. So this is what I did.
As an interesting note, 3 of my friends were really into the MJ world, me not (well, I bought the Thriller album lot of years ago, but that's all). One of them was even official double of MJ some years ago, doing some stage shows.
All in all I had here some help on the shape of more than 100 pics of MJ, and I chose one of the most known photos of him.
Here you have the last "Tales of Yuyu" tale, written by John Tones, of course, and illustrated by me. It is called "The Mistery of the Sea", and it haves a pretty primeval tone.
At least three of my friends told me they never made the effort of clicking the links and reading the tale, so they never saw the finished drawings with the grey tones. What the hell is that? Are they only reading books that have drawings inside? Well, if thats the case, I'm happy to tell you that the Yuyu Tales dossier is already in the hands of some editors, and with some luck, someday the entire book will be in their hands so they can read it without fear, as it will come full of drawings, hell yeah!..
Cover for the Juju Tales dossier for some editors (and hopefully for the book someday too). Wish me luck, I am pretty proud of this drawing.
Portada para el dossier que he juntado de Los cuentos del yuyu (y para la cubierta del libro algun dia, espero):

Deseadme suerte, estoy bastante orgulloso de éste dibujo en concreto.
Second sketch for this particular tale. I changed the vampire fight for a hunt. It is 2 separated drawings together, as you can see.
Sketch done for the ink illustration for the eighth tale of the Juju, by tones and me, here:

I went into a fixed old metro station that is not working anymore, here in Madrid.
Ps. The tale is in spanish, sorry!
